What the Carwash means to Casey

Last month we featured an article about the launch of our new OCCE car wash team that expanded to partner with the City of Casey. Following on from this we had the opportunity to speak with Robert Maglicic, Team Leader Works Services at the City of Casey, about what this new enterprise means to the council.

We hope you enjoy this short (5min) video interview with Robert as much as we enjoyed hearing how valued the OCCE team are at the City of Casey.

We are proud to support OC Connections and look forward to exploring further opportunities with them.

Team Leader Shirley and the rest of the OC Connections Enterprises (OCCE) Car Wash team, were very proud to be at the VicRoads Head Office in Kew last month to feature in a Channel Nine News story about the importance of the Victorian Government’s Social Procurement Framework and its impact.

OCCE provides on-site fleet car washing services for organisations across Melbourne including VicRoads, creating important job opportunities for people living with disability.

The Hon. Jaala Pulford MP, Minister for Roads; Road Safety and the TAC; and the Minister for Fishing and Boating visited the OCCE Car Wash team at VicRoads to see first-hand how social procurement opportunities make a real difference to the lives of disadvantaged Victorians and their families.

Ms Pulford said “Through programs such as these, we’re able to give back to the community and get a high-quality service in return.”

The VicRoads initiative is part of the Andrews Government policy to promote better opportunities for vulnerable Victorians. This is helping job seekers facing barriers to employment by creating new job opportunities across the state.

“We’re getting on with making sure that every Victorian has the opportunity to find a job and keep it – and we’re proud to play our part.” The Hon. Martin Pakula MP, Minister for Jobs, Innovation and Trade, Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Minister for Racing.

The story aired 17 August on the Channel Nine evening news. Click below to watch Madeline Slattery present “Fair Go”.
